Police closed a rural road in Wiltshire this morning after a nasty looking crash that saw two cars partially leave the road.

The incident took place on Poulshot Road, near the village of Poulshot just south west of Devizes, on the morning of Friday, May 19, and left two cars badly damaged.

One appeared to have partially left the road into some trees after the collision, while another was left partly on the pavement.

Police say those involved suffered minor injuries.

Officers were called to the scene and closed the road in both directions between Mill Lane and Barley Hill Lane in order for the route to be cleared.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Road Policing Units are currently dealing with this collision in Poulshot. Fortunately, minor injuries only. Recovery is on the way and the road will be open shortly.”

At the time of writing, the AA is reporting that the road remains closed while police wait for the vehicles to be recovered.

The AA’s traffic map said: “Road closed and heavy traffic due to crash, two vehicles involved on Poulshot Road both ways from Mill Lane to Barley Hill Lane.

“Recovery has been requested and is waiting for arrival, affecting traffic between Bulkington and Devizes.”
