Bargammon’s Tavern, a board games cafe and bar, will open in a currently empty premises at Chippenham Market Place in May.

The new venue claims to be the first of its kind in Wiltshire and will offer customers an opportunity to play a huge selection of 300 board games, or even bring their own, while enjoying locally sourced food and drink.

While gamers will be able to find Bargammon’s next door to St Andrew’s Church from next month, an exact opening date has not yet been revealed.

In a message on their website, a spokesperson said: “Bargammon’s Tavern is Chippenham’s board games cafe and bar. Wiltshire’s first venue dedicated to providing a comfortable environment for people to meet and socialise over a board or party game.y
