Two internationally-recognised artists are set to play in Devizes in the coming months.

Keyboard player Adam Wakeman, who’s played among the likes of Take That and Ozzy Osbourne, will be performing in Devizes Corn Exchange on November 20.

And an Australian pianist is doing his one UK show in the town on December 9, also at the Corn Exchange.

Adam Wakeman is the son of Rick Wakeman CBE, the world-renowned keyboard player both as a member of YES and as a solo artist.

Adam chose Devizes to perform with this Jazz Sabbath trio which explores the boundaries between jazz and the songs that defined heavy metal.

He is also visiting seven other towns and cities while he is in the UK as part of his tour with the trio this year.

Adam is in his 19th year now as member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band on keyboards and additional guitar for his Worldwide "No More Tours 2" tour.

He also co-wrote 6 tracks on Ozzy's 2010 platinum-selling Grammy-nominated album “SCREAM”.

Paul Chandler who has been promoting the event is looking forward to seeing the town experience Adam’s famous music.

“I’ve become very friendly with the Wakeman family and rang Adam up when he announced his UK tour and asked him if he would like to come to Devizes.”

Lachy Doley, Australia’s celebrated keyboard phenomenon. Dubbed the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond Organ, Lachy is doing one UK show only in 2022 and he chose Devizes.

Lachy Doley is also set to play a sold-out performance.

Dachy has issued one album as a solo artist, ‘Typically Individual Conforming Anti-Social’, (2011) and four albums fronting Lachy Doley Group.

Lovelight peaked at number 40 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

With more events like Adam and Lachey’s performances in the lineup, the town is firmly on the musical scene map it seems.

The music scene in Devizes has been going from strength to strength recently, with lots of events on the horizon.

Paul added: “Ian Hopkins has been really making the live music scene what it is here and on the back of that we’re trying to put things in even further and get bigger names to come to Devizes.”
