A high-profile London-based clothing, homeware and furniture chain has just hit the streets of Marlborough- but the concept is a bit different to their usual stores.
Located just opposite Waitrose, a brand new White Company store opened yesterday (01/09) on the buzzing Marlborough high street, with a big twist.
The concept behind the new shop is to blend the convenience of online shopping with the simplicity of in-person browsing.
Describes as an “edited version” of the regular stores, this one allows customers to still buy and take home items on the day, like you would in a normal store.
But you can also have easy access to the rest of the stock which couldn’t fit in the building that the company sells via an online system.
The modern take on shopping is set to mean people can get access to a wider variety of products, all from the comforts of their own town rather than travelling to bigger shops- and delivery is free if you get it from the store.
Inside the shop, there is also a wellness section, which people can take a moment for themselves to relax in.
It’s been smiles all round so far, according to the staff in the store.
After a busy opening day, people in the town are still finding their way around the shop and have been singing its praises so far.
The shop’s manager Josie Edmonds told this newspaper: “The shop feels great, and it’s really airy.
“Everyone so far as said they’re so happy to see us in Marlborough, so we were feeling the love yesterday.
“So we’re loving being here.
“What I really like about Marlborough is that it is such an eclectic mixture of shops that are here, so it’s nice to see the bigger names among the independents, and they all work really really well together and I think we fit in well in the area.
“Everybody has known we were coming since around July, and it’s really exciting for people who love the company here not to have to travel out to Bath, Bristol or further afield to pay a visit.”
The multi-channel, international business, has shops all over Britain, and has been making products for over 25 years.
Selling products predominantly in white, the company aims to use “fine but affordable” materials, for different corners of people’s lives, including the home, bedroom, fragrance, and beauty items.
