A lorry carrying live chickens overturned at Longbarrow Roundabout near Stonehenge this morning, August 23, and is causing delays on the A303.

The incident happened just after 4.30am and Wiltshire Police have closed the A303 eastbound between the A360 roundabout and the A345 Countess Roundabout.

Police told the Journal that the driver is uninjured and the road is closed to allow for the recovery of the lorry.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time or seek alternative routes as congestion builds following the incident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "We were called at just after 4.30am this morning (23/08) following reports that a lorry carrying live chickens had overturned at the Longbarrow Roundabout where the A360 crosses the A303 near Stonehenge."
