A Malmesbury man who drunk alcohol and took cocaine before getting behind the wheel of a Convertible has been banned from the road. 

Tristan Bourne, of Bonners Close, was caught driving a Vauxhall Astra on the A46 Bath Road in Nailsworth on February 18.

He was found to have cocaine in his system as well as 114 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80. 

At Cheltenham Magistrates Court on August 10 he pleaded guilty and was banned from driving for 16 months. 

The 31-year-old was fined £350 for each offence and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £70 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
