Firefighters have been called to another field fire as the dry conditions continue to cause problems.

On Tuesday, a stack of baled straw was set a light in a field in Badbury near Swindon.

Crews from Stratton, Swindon, Westlea, Royal Wootton Bassett and Pewsey were deployed to the scene.

The fire was safely extinguished.

Writing on social media, Stratton St Margaret Fire Station said: “Both Stratton crews played a part in extinguishing this stack of baled straw in #Badbury alongside @DWFRSSwindon@DWFRSWestlea@DWFRSRWB_Fire & Pewsey fire station.

"Great teamwork displayed from the farming community. #OneTeam #heroes #DWfire.”

A number of field fires have broken out over the last few weeks across Wiltshire and in Swindon.

On August 8, a huge field fire broke out in West Overdon near Marlborough.

Smoke could be seen from as far as Swindon with massive plumes of smoke being witnessed.

On Saturday evening, a field fire occurred in Wichelstowe with Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service urging locals to close their doors.

Then in the early hours of Monday morning a hundred tonnes of hay caught fire in a field opposite the Esso garage in Chiseldon.
