Stealing alcohol is a pretty common offence, and it seems that it happens on a regular basis in Wiltshire.

Depending on the nature of the incident, people can be fined different amounts, according to the law.

Here are some of the cases courts have seen in Wiltshire this month, including:

A woman stealing a four-pack of Budweiser from One Stop in Chippenham.

32-year-old Cheryl Louise Mortimer, who is from the town, allegedly stole the beers on May 23, and faced court on August 4, with a verdict yet to be made publicly available.

A man and woman from Swindon also stole bottles of whisky and vodka from Tesco on May 29.

Damien James Lynch, 39, and Shelley Marie Corless, 43, took £106 worth of the alcohol from the supermarket without paying, and pleaded guilty to Swindon Magistrates’ court on August 3.

The pair were each fined £80, and issued with a victim surcharge of £34, as well as being ordered to pay the costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

A woman from Trowbridge also faced court this month after being accused of stealing some gin from a service station on August 22.

Latasha Jade Sheppard, 32, from Harford Street allegedly stole the alcohol from BP Service Station in Chippenham, as well as some steak.

She pleaded not guilty on January 1, and was due to face court on August 10, and the verdict has not yet been made public.

A 42-year-old man from Trowbridge was also fined for stealing alcohol this month.
