A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and possession of a weapon following separate incidents at a supermarket in Devizes.

The 36-year-old, from Devizes, was arrested after a male suspect on three occasions entered the Morrisons store on Estcourt Street, selected meat and left without paying.

Officers were called to the store yesterday (11/08) following a report of shoplifting and a man was arrested.

He was also found to be in possession of "a bladed article" in a public place.

He was taken to Melksham custody where he remains for questioning.
