A woman has been fined for trying to make a gain on a beauty product refund in Chippenham.
The incident occurred on December 15, 2020 when 46-year-old Kelly Brook-Jones from Wyndham Crescent in Bristol carried out a ‘fraudulent cash refund’ of £46.50.
According to Swindon Magistrates’ court, Kelly made a false representation to carryout a refund for a ‘Gelish gel soak off gel polish foundation base of 15ml.’
She pleaded guilty on February 16, and was given a community order to complete by September 21, 2023.
She will have to carry out 120 hours of work over the next year according to Swindon Magistrates’ Court.
Kelly was ordered to pay compensation of £541.47, and issued with a victim surcharge of £95.
She is also required to pay the costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court has also stated that Kelly’s guilty plea was taken into account when imposing the sentence.
