A dog who was let off the lead caused havoc earlier this month by attacking a sheep in a Marlborough field.
It attacked a ewe in Coopers Meadow on August 6, and people are now being reminded to keep their four-legged friends on a lead after the event took place.
The dog caused a ripped udder to the ewe, as well as damage to the tail and back leg- with the animal having to be given veterinary care and be monitored, as well as receive antibiotics.
It comes after a swan died earlier this year following injuries from a dog attack, so Marlborough Town Council are trying to push the message that people should take the issue seriously.
A spokesperson for the council said: “We're pretty certain that in both cases the owners of these dogs were shocked that their dog behaved this way.
"The point is any dog might do this even if you don't think yours would.
"If you walk your dog in Cooper's Meadow, please keep it on a lead at all times.
“If your family, friends or neighbours own dogs and are unlikely to see our website or social media posts, please make them aware.”
