The driving force of a festival from Devizes is hoping that her event will make a triumphant return to the town this year- but only if enough tickets are sold.

Jemma Brown became intent on the festival being a success in lockdown, which motivated her to make the most of more opportunities after the pandemic.

"Devizes needs to own it, we didn't want to get grant money", she explained.

"There is so much out there that does so much good from a wellbeing and educational perspective.

"What we're doing is giving people a choice to invest in it to make it happen."

The mum, wife, and singer is now pushing for more tickets to be sold three weeks ahead of the festival which takes place on August 27 and 28.

The event was held at the Green in Devizes last year, with around 1,800 people attending.

Full of passion for the festival, Jemma Brown wants as many people as possible to enjoy it, and is selling tickets for £40, despite believing they could go for much more.

The Fulltone Orchestra are the headline act, who are a 65-musician orchestra, with the focus of inspiring people to love opera and orchestral music as a whole, and appreciate the magic that the music brings.

Jemma said: “Orchestra music underpins everything.

“Once you’ve tuned into it, you realise all the big pop records have orchestras.

“Nearly every Oasis song has a massive string section going underneath it, but if you want to go and see a live orchestra you would have to go to London, Bristol, Bath and we’re plonking a 65-piece orchestra, all of whom are professional musicians on the Green.

“In its infancy, people haven’t got that pride for it yet here, but they will.

“It’s just giving people access to this incredible music and we designed it so the Fulltone orchestra are doing three things on the Saturday, and three things on the Sunday.

The lineup for the festival this year includes Jonathan Antoine rose to fame after appearing on the sixth series of Britain's Got Talent in 2012.

He said: “It's wonderful to be performing with such a talented orchestra and to part of this experience. I'm really excited about it!"

Also attending will be BBC Radio presenter James Threlfall, Trumpeter and Tik-Tok sensation Oli Parker, local musicians Kirsty Clinch and Pete Lamb & The Heartbeats.
