A 15-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of common assault on an emergency worker.

The teenager was released on bail and will face Salisbury Magistrates Court on August 23.

The charges are in connection with the incident in Station Road last week where a crash occurred at around 8.45pm on Wednesday night (July 27) in the Station Road area of the town.

The victim in his 30s remains in Southmead Hospital in a critical condition.

After the crash, the driver of the car involved in the collision left the scene, although the vehicle, a white Ford Fiesta, was later found abandoned.

 A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A 15-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of common assault on an emergency worker.

"He’s been released on bail and is due in Salisbury Magistrates Court on August 23.”

Three others were also arrested day after the crash in connection with the incident.

On Thursday afternoon (July 28) officers attended an address in the town and arrested a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy, all on suspicion of attempted murder.

They also arrested a 40-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender. 

Wiltshire Police is urging any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.

It comes after it was announced another murder investigation was taking place in the town earlier this month.
