One of the biggest steam, vintage and countryside events in the UK is back after a two-year break due to the pandemic.

The Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza at South Cerney airfield will feature nearly 1,000 classic cars, 140 military vehicles, 200 tractors and 300 commercials from ex-emergency services to American auto trucks.

Add to that 70 steam vehicles, 35 mini versions and dozens of vintage coaches, buses and caravans. And there'll be a cavalcade of vehicles built in 1952 to mark the Queen's Platinium Jubilee.

Chairman Martyn Slater, said: ‘The show will be packed full of exhibits, displays, entertainment and stalls to keep the whole family entertained.

"We pride ourself on being one of the best value days out for all. As such we’ve frozen our prices for the 11th year. What’s more, the event helps local and national charities’ with up to 30 represented on site raising money and awareness of their respective causes. The club - Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club - has donated over £200kfor charity in recent years."

The live action arena will be packed with steam engines of all descriptions. The demonstration arena will put mighty machines to the test - and there’s the opportunity to drive one.

Other highlights on the programme include the Royal British Legion Poppy Parachute Display Team, fun and educational displays from birds of prey, ferret racing, rare breeds, and shire horses.

Fairground rides, a 10¼ ins scale steam locomotive and a traditional Punch and Judy Show also feature.

The show runs from August 5 to 7, between 10am and 5pm. A family weekend ticket is £35. Visit glosvintageextravaganza.co.uk for all ticket prices and more details.
