A brand new seating area funded by Wiltshire Council and the central government has arrived in the centre of Devizes - and most residents are delighted.
It is thought to be a temporary measure for the town during the summer months - but the initiative could be popping up in other towns around Wiltshire in the future.

The seating areas are open to everyone- and many visitors have said they have been enjoying sitting out with a coffee or people-watching.

In the community Facebook group ‘Devizes Issues’ one resident said: ‘Me and my fiancee use it quite often to have a sneaky coffee.
‘Glad the council kept it after lockdowns enjoy sitting there in the nice weather.’

However, others were a little sceptical about how its fresh look will be preserved.
Another Facebook user said: ‘It looks lovely, but how long will it last with the amount of vandalism that goes on in Devizes?’
