HUNDREDS of wargamers will descend on Devizes this weekend to fight battles against opponents from all over the country.

For the first time since 2019, Devizes and District Wargames Group will be holding its annual show Attack! At Devizes School on Saturday and Sunday (July 16 and 17).

This will be the club’s 41st show, in its 49-year history, and is already drawing hundreds of wargames competitors and traders from all over the UK.

There are 100 competitors playing in eight competitions covering a time span that stretches from biblical time through to WWII.

And that is just the start as previous years have seen around 1,000 people coming to the show.

Part of the attraction will be the 32 traders will be there to satisfy all wargaming needs from paints and brushes, books and figures and terrain items to landscape the tabletop.

A big draw to the show is a Bring and Buy sale where gamers can sell their unwanted items or pick up a bargain.

Light refreshments and a real ale bar provided by The British Lion pub team from Devizes will satisfy the needs of visitors over the weekend.

Love Ukraine Devizes has been chosen by the club committee to receive the proceeds of the show raffle. Prizes are donated by the traders attending Attack!
