A NYTHE woman who bombarded her victim with calls and social media messages has been given a two-year restraining order.

Sarah Reeves, of Tyneham Road, Swindon, used an unknown number to phone the same person 184 times in less than two weeks - harassing them between September 12 and 23 last year.

The 26-year-old also sent her victim a number of unwanted messages via social media sites from different accounts.

A restraining order was put in place when Reeves appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on June 1, after she was convicted of harassment without violence.

The order means Reeves is not to mention or talk about the victim on social media or on the internet.

It will remain in place until May 31, 2024.

Reeves was fined an initial £80, a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, and £85 to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The total of £199 is due to be paid by June 29.

Harassment is when someone repeatedly behaves in a way that makes a person feel scared, distressed or threatened.

Stalking and harassment are offences under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
