A woman who was found dead at a Swindon house has been named by police as a murder probe continues.

A 70-year-old man arrested in connection with the death has been released under investigation.

Police said Helen Long, 44, died at the address in Standen Way, Blunsdon St Andrew.

A post-mortem took place on Tuesday, but police were unable to determine a cause of death so their investigations are ongoing.

Detectives were called to the scene at around 2.30am on Tuesday morning.

Detective Inspector Simon Childe, from Wiltshire Police's Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “We know that this incident will have caused concern locally, but I want the community to be reassured that we are carrying out an in-depth investigation.

“Our thoughts are with Helen’s family at this difficult time, and we are working hard to ensure we understand the full circumstances of her death.

“I would continue to appeal for anyone with information to come forward and speak to us.”

Anyone who can help police should call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting log 26 of June 21.
