Here are some of the latest planning applications submitted to Wiltshire Council this week.

Dilton Marsh: Early consultations are being held around a possible planning application for 65 homes and supporting infrastructure on land north of Dilton Marsh High Street.

Currently, an Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Opinion is wanted by developers.

A screening opinion helps developers get an idea of how likely an EIA will be needed before a formal application is submitted. If a development is considered to require an EIA, you can get further advice by requesting a scoping opinion.

An EIA could lead to improved project design, improved decision making, better information disclosure, more public involvement, and better co-operation.

Calne: Calne Save on Tyres has submitted an application for full planning permission for an MOT centre at its units on Porte Marsh Road.

It also wants to retain the permission to sell tyres. The application site comprises two adjoining commercial units - Unit A + Unit B. Unit A is subdivided into two areas, each with its own entrance.

The larger area comprises a tyre sales area, including a vehicle lift, workshop area and a small office. Unit B is currently empty, comprising a commercial unit to include an office and toilet facilities for  staff usage.

The applicants say the proposed MOT facility is considered necessary in order to support the existing tyre business and enable the business to function more efficiently and generate additional income.

They add: "The new MOT testing facility will provide an essential public service to the local community".

Pinkney: A certificate of lawful development is wanted following an application for an extension to an existing flat above a garage, converting the garage below to be part of the flat.

The applicants say the application was "made in good faith with the genuine belief" that the flat already had planning permission.

However the Local Planning Authority found no evidence that the flat has permission, and therefore this application is to prove the lawfulness of the flat.

Chippenham: PLANS have been submitted to build a private traveller site on land north of the M4 motorway near Chippenham.

The site is close to the small village of Littleton Drew, and about a mile and a half east of Burton. The proposal is for two Gypsy/traveller pitches to be occupied by Gypsies or Travellers.

The pitches would comprise one mobile home, one touring caravan, and one dayroom. Elevations and Floorplans for the mobile homes have not been included as part of the application.

According to the Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation Assessment report submitted as part of the planning application, there is a need for 61 pitches in the county.

Chippenham: Plans have been submitted for two 'C3 residential dwellings' on land at Sandown Drive, Chippenham.

C3 is use as a house by a single person or by people living together as a family, or by not more than six residents living together as a single household.

EXTENSIONS: Applications have been lodged to build extensions to houses, or to build or convert outbuildings and lofts at Fosseway Cottage, Littleton Drew, Chippenham; 20 Kingfisher Drive, Devizes; 25 Cornbrash Rise, Hilperton, Trowbridge; 22 Warren Crescent, Calne; 189 Trowbridge Road, Bradford-on-Avon; 45 Church Street, Great Bedwyn, Marlborough; The Brewhouse, 22B Great Hinton, Trowbridge; 50 The Common, Broughton Gifford, Melksham; Fox House, Tetbury Hill, Malmesbury; 49 Malmesbury Road, Leigh.
