MILITARY aircraft have been seen soaring through the skies above Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett.
Quick-thinking Adver readers snapped these great photos of an A400 and C17 from RAF Brize Norton flying over Blunsdon and Royal Wootton Bassett yesterday evening at around 7.30pm.
Lewis Moran took the photos below and added: "They sounded close together, so I grabbed my camera, looked out the window and saw the pair in formation.
"I thought it was an impressive sight as it’s not everyday you see the pair in formation and this is because they were formatting up for a flypast."
Flight radar images from that time show the hi-tech planes going in several loops around the borough and around Carterton.
Paul Rostron took the three photos below and told the Adver: "I was in the garden. The first time I saw them was quite a shock. Big aeroplanes flying so low close and maneuvering is very dramatic - and cargo planes, not the usual fighters.
But they kept coming round over and over again right over my house in Blunsdon. I used my flight tracker app to see what it was and to follow them.
"Very exciting - and a free airshow. Looking forward to the proper Fairford show in July now."
Libby Gale filmed the video at the top of this article. She said: "Honestly I was so shocked to see them as low as they were! Amazing, I was very pleased."
