Pupils at St Michael’s School in Aldbourne gathered for a special tree planting ceremony to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Children from every year group across the school planted trees at the front of the school. The trees were blessed by Rev Beth Hutton from the Whitton Benefice and Grace and Mason, the eldest and youngest children in the school, unveiled a commemorative plaque.
The event was rounded off by a loud ‘three cheers’ for Her Majesty the Queen.
Judith Arkwright, headteacher of St Michael’s School said: “It was important for us to share with the children this historic event and we are proud to be able to create a lasting memory for future generations to enjoy.
“The children will continue learning about the Queen’s reign next term as they explore lots of aspects of British life throughout the last 70 years.”
