Police investigating a distraction burglary in Calne are appealing for help to identify a man who may be another potential victim or a witness.

A police spokesman said: “On February 9, a distraction burglary occurred at an address in The Pippin.

"An elderly woman who suffers with dementia was targeted by men claiming to be carrying out maintenance work at her property – one of the men distracted the woman whilst a second man entered the address and stole a safe containing a large amount of cash.

“Last week, officers arrested a 17-year-old male from Surrey and a 21-year-old man from Christian Malford in connection with the incident. Both have been released under investigation while further enquiries are carried out.”

The spokesman added: “As part of their enquiries, officers have located an image of a man who they believe may either be another victim, or may be a witness to the incident.

"We are urging members of the public to take a look at the image – if you recognise the man, or think this may be you, please get in touch as you may be able to help officers significantly with their enquiries.
