Delays are expected on the roads in Wiltshire this week, with up to 25 road closures in place.

The latest expected works list from National Highways shows that 14 new closures will begin over the next seven days.

These include:

  • A36, from 9am March 14 to 3pm March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 northbound and southbound, Bathampton to Bath Road roundabout - Stop and Go for drainage. Avoiding all other works.
  • A303, from 7pm March 14 to 6am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Mere (B3092) to Tinkers Hill (B3081) carriageway closures for resurfacing, diversion via New Road through Bourton.
  • A303, from 8pm March 15 to 6am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound and westbound, Amesbury lane closures for surveys.
  • A303, from 8pm March 15 to 6am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Amesbury to Cholderton mobile lane closure for surveys.
  • M4, from 8pm March 16 to 6am March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 17 to 16 eastbound and westbound, lane closure for filter drain renewal.
  • A303, from 8pm March 21 to 6am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Deptford entry slip road closed for horticultural works. Diversion via A303 westbound to Wylye and return.
  • M4, from 8pm March 23 to 6am March 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 Leigh Delamere westbound, exit slip closed for drainage works, No access to the services.
  • A303, from 8pm March 25 to 6am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Wylye to Mere lane closure for drainage works.
  • A303, from 8pm March 25 to 6am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 Wylye to Mere westbound, lane closure for drainage works.
  • A36, from 9am March 28 to 3pm March 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Bathampton to Bath Road Rbt - Stop and Go signs in place for drainage works.
  • A303, from 8pm March 28 to 6am April 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 northbound and southbound, Wilton to Deptford carriageway closures for road markings, diversion via A360 and A303.

The list list also shows that 11 closures already in place are expected to carry on this week. 

These include:

  • A303, from 11.30pm March 11 to 4.30am March 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 Wylye to Cow Drove used as a diversion for Wiltshire Council closure of Dinton Road.
  • M4, from midnight, February 10 to 11pm March 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 17 to 15 used as an HGV diversion route for Wiltshire closure of A429.
  • A303, from 8pm March 11 to 6am March 15, severe delays (more than 30 minutes): A36 northbound and southbound, between West Yellow and Lyndhurst Road (B3079) carriageway closures 24hrs for resurfacing works, diversion via A36, M27, M3, A34 and A303, Non-motorway traffic diversion via A36, A3090, A3057 and A303.
  • M4, from 9pm February 28 to 6am March 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 15 to 22 mobile lane closures in both directions for maintenance works.
  • A303, from 6am March 2 to 6am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Bourton 24hr lane closure for resurfacing.
  • A303, from 8pm February 18 to 6am March 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, Thruxton, slip road and lane closures for Hampshire County Council works, diversion via National Highways network.
  • M4, from 8pm January 5 to 6am April 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 16 to 17 lane closure westbound, for resurfacing works.
  • M4, from 8pm February 21 to 6am May 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4 eastbound and westbound, junction 16 -15 lane closures for barrier works.
  • A36, from 3.01pm February 18 to 6am June 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A36 Limpley Stoke two-way traffic signals for Geotechnical works.
  • M4, from 11.59pm April 27 2021 to midnight, April 27 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M4, junction 17 to 16 eastbound, 24hr hard shoulder closure for carriageway defect repair.
