If you're heading on the M4 this weekend, you should expect some disruption due to several motorway closures, according to National Highways England.

This is mostly due to essential carriageway resurfacing and other repairs.

If you are set to be travelling within these areas at that sort of time, then take note of what diversions will be in place.

M4 Eastbound

Junction 12 exit slip road

When?: Friday 9 pm to Saturday 6 am

Why is it closed?: Technology works

Are there any diversions?: Diversion via National Highways and Local Authority network

Junction 14 to 13 carriageway

When?: Friday from 9 pm to Saturday, 6 am.

Why is it closed?: Structure maintenance

Are there any diversions?: Diversion via National Highways and Local Authority network

Junction 6 to Junction 5 carriageway

When?: Saturday from 8 pm to Sunday 6 am

Why is it closed?: Smart motorway works

M4 Westbound

Junction 20 to 22 carriageway

When?: Sunday 10 pm to Monday, 6 am

Why is it closed?: Resurfacing work

Are there any diversions?: Diversion for M4 Prince of Wales Bridge join M5 Southbound to Jct 18, M49 northbound to J22 M4. Diversion for M48 Severn Bridge join M5 Southbound to Jct 18, A403 to M48 Jct 1.

M4 Both Directions

Junction 6 to Junction 8/9 carriageway

When?: Saturday, 6.01 am to Monday 6 am

Why is it closed?: Smart motorway works

M5 northbound and southbound Junction 15 to M4 Junction 20 entry slip 

When?: Sunday from 10 pm to Monday 6am
