Brighter days ahead

As I watch the TV in these dark winters nights after walking my dog regardless of the weather twice a day. Dog lovers agreed? I often go through the channels on Freeview. I then watch Andre Rieu conductor and violinist who creates happiness all around the world with his music. People of all ages dancing and singing to his music and the fantastic entourage behind him.

I then despair as I look around me at my late stage in the game of life. Politicians, the sleaze. Boris Johnson, Putin. Criminality rife. Animal cruelty regarding puppy farms and dog theft. I ponder with serious thoughts on what should be, not what it is.

On the brighter side we will be into spring in a few weeks and summer soon after. But that won't change my aforementioned prognosis on the state of the human race and its direction unless there is change in human nature.

That the best side of it, most of us. Sorts out the bad side in minority before it is too late for us all and our future generations by democratic judicial action before it is too late for us all.

Verge of apocalypse

We are on the verge of, probably, the most catastrophic (and, possibly, the most apocalyptic) war ever!

So, who do we have in charge of the country at this time? Boris the clown, nay buffoon, as Prime Minister - who hides in a fridge when the going gets tough - and Liz Truss, aka "Bambi caught in the headlights", as Foreign Secretary. I am afraid, very afraid.

Swindon MPs - Messrs Buckland and Tomlinson - what say you? Cue deafening, but predictable, silence yet again.

As a proud former member of the Royal Observer Corps, forgive me if I go and find my bunker!

Prices too steep

Sorry to say this but I feel I must complain on behalf of the vulnerable people who use the Lawn Community Centre who are a registered charity .

Monday mornings are coffee morning they are being so over charged on some drinks - Latte is £1 50 per cup (a box bought for £1-50 contains 8 sachets ) making the profit £10.

I know the centre does not need to charge this amount all drinks are £1-50 except just plain cup of tea and instant coffee are £1 which are good prices. These drinks do include biscuits .

In the past I have resigned from the committee because of over charging.
