The A303 is closed in both directions between the A345 and A360 near Stonehenge after a serious collision.

Police said earlier today that the road is likely to be closed for some time.

The National Highways Tweet says the closure is in place following a collision involving a pedestrian and a HGV.

Its website also adds: "Collision investigation by Wiltshire Police is taking place at scene. Due to the nature of this incident the closure is expected to be protracted and be ongoing through the morning.

"If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra time for your journey."
