Emergency services are temporarily holding traffic on the M4 to deal with a vehicle fire.
Motorists travelling towards Bristol are queing from the incident on the Westbound carriageway from J17 A350 (Chippenham) to J18 A46 (Bath).
Someone caught in the traffic named Kyle called into BBC Radio Wiltshire, he said: "I'm just calling to report a traffic incident on the M4, it's past J17 towards 18 and probably about 6 miles past 17.
"I'm stuck beind it now and can just about see all the smoke but the highways officers have shut the road."
National Highways South-West have posted onto Twitter at 7.42am to say that a vehicle transporter has caught fire and that Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue were en-route
Traffic cameras show that a number of police cars and fire engines have arrived at the scene.
