Former Take That star Robbie Williams is reportedly facing struggles as he tries to sell his £7m Wiltshire ‘mega-mansion.’

He put his house on the market in September, but he has had no joy so far in finding a buyer.

Despite his lack of success, the property has not failed to strike up interest on the market, with it being one of the most viewed by house hunters in the area last year.

The luxury mansion comprises of seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, five reception rooms, over 70 acres of land, outbuildings and leisure facilities, including a swimming pool and a spa area.

Rightmove describes the property as being restored to an ‘exemplary standard.’

So why is the Rock DJ singer struggling so much to sell his picture-perfect dwelling?

The celebrity bought Compton Bassett House in Wiltshire in 2008 for £8.1m, but the Daily Star has reported that he is refusing to go any lower than £7m despite estate agents advising him to put the mansion on the market for £6.75m.

An insider has said: “It really is stunning, but it is just not being offered on. The price may be too high for the current climate of buyers, but it doesn’t seem like he wants to come down from what it has been valued at.

“It is causing all sorts of headaches.”

Robbie is trying to spark more interest in the mansion himself, by sharing why he and his family have loved living there so much.

The singer said: “Compton Bassett House has been the perfect escape for our family. It is where Ayda and I truly fell in love, set roots as a couple, and dreamed of our future family.

“Since then, we have welcomed four beautiful children into the gracious rooms at Compton Bassett House, where we have shared much laughter and joy. The gardens and trees have enchanted us with their magic, and on rainy days (of which there are many in England), we have played and splashed around the indoor pool, much to our delight.

“Compton Bassett House is most definitely a family-friendly house that deserves to have much more laughter and joy within its beautiful walls. We hope the incoming purchaser will enjoy just as much as we have.”
