WILTSHIRE Council has set up a web page of advice for anyone thinking of staging a street party or other event to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee next year.

2022 will mark the year that Her Majesty the Queen becomes the first British Monarch to have served for 70 years, having acceded to the throne on February 6 1952.

Throughout 2022 this Platinum Jubilee will be celebrated across the country, the Commonwealth and the globe as communities collectively come together to mark this truly historic occasion.

An extended bank holiday takes place from Thursday to Sunday June 2-5 to give people an opportunity to celebrate the milestone, with a number of national events and reflections planned to mark her 70-year reign.

Some of the many national celebration events include the Queen's Birthday Parade (Trooping the Colour), Platinum Jubilee Pageant, Platinum Party at the Palace, the Cazoo Derby at Epsom Downs, and a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral
