A caravan of camels will star in this year’s Carols by Candlelight evening, hosted by Julia’s House children’s hospice.

The event at St John's Church in Devizes on December 2 will feature a festive camel parade and traditional carols by candlelight.

There will be readings from Julia's House families and supporters, and choir performances from St Joseph's Primary School and White House Opera.

Plenty of pies and mulled wine will be on offer for people to enjoy.

The evening will raise money to support Julia’s House’s care for the most seriously ill children across Wiltshire and essential respite breaks for local families.

Julia’s House Fundraiser, Claudia Hickin, said, “We’re delighted to be able to host our Carols by Candlelight event at St John’s Church again this year.

"People who have attended previously will know that we are honoured to have Bactrian camels visit us in their wonderfully festive bridles and blankets.

"It is a magical evening, which helps to raise money to support local families who depend on our care this Christmas and throughout the year.”
