Marlborough dental lab technician Trevor Goodall has been lauded for raising an astonishing £1m for special baby care.

Trevor, who works for Swindon-based dental group Gensmile, was the toast of an awards night held to celebrate his 'outstanding' charity effort.

Gensmile's Angela Roberts said: “We were delighted to donate and recognise the Trevor’s remarkable achievement, raising more than £1m for local special care baby units throughout the South of England.

“This outstanding effort was part of a lasting memorial to his twin sons Joshua and Samuel, who were born prematurely in 1995, but who sadly died shortly afterwards."

“Trevor has dedicated 26 years of his life to setting up a charity called New Life, which did a remarkable campaign of creating awareness, educating and fundraising to make sure that local Special Care Baby Units receive much-needed funds or vital medical equipment to enable them to care for those very special babies born sick or too soon.

“On the evening, Trevor thanked everyone for their support over the years and said that he hoped this was only the start of many millions to be raised in the future.”
