Adver Sport assessed the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club’s 2-2 draw at home to Rochdale in League Two.

Lewis Ward: 5

After the past two displays expectations were high for Ward. But his kicking was very hit and miss, and I felt he might have done better to save the first goal. Wollacott very likely to come in for Sutton on Tuesday, in my opinion.

Rob Hunt: 6

Hunt was barely involved in the first half and was sacrificed with 20 minutes to play when Town needed more going forward. Subbed.

Akin Odimayo: 5

Odimayo was dragged out of position for the equaliser and gave the ball away more than once too. A little below par after his minor injury in midweek. Subbed.

Dion Conroy: 7

The Town captain must have won over 90 per cent of his headers – aerially, he was excellent. He made a couple of errors that he was lucky to get away with, but overall Conroy was reliable at the back.

Romoney Crichlow: 6

Crichlow gave the ball away for the first goal, but was fairly solid otherwise. Like Conroy, the defender was strong in the air.

Ellis Iandolo: 7

Iandolo got forward well and delivered a couple of handy crosses. Should have won a penalty when fouled, but the referee bottled the call. Iandolo also made a superb last-ditch tackle to deny Rochdale.

Louis Reed: 7

Reed was aggressive with his tackling and tried his best to keep the ball ticking over. A player that never seems to let the team down.

Jack Payne: 5

One of Payne’s poorest performances for a while, in my opinion. He combined nicely with Iandolo on a couple of occasions in the first half but was mostly pretty inconsistent. His set-piece deliveries were quite poor and finishing – non-existent. Also highly culpable for second goal.

Ben Gladwin: 7

Gladwin thundered a goal-of-the-season contender in the first half. He didn’t do much, but what he did do seemed to come off. The only major drawback would be his strange decision to run past the ball for the second Rochdale goal.

Harry McKirdy: 7

McKirdy’s strong run of form continued – it was only missing one thing, a goal. Owner of a very classy assist, McKirdy looked dangerous in the final third. Subbed.

Tyreece Simpson: 6

The striker’s hold-up play was very good but his lay off infrequently found its target. There were a couple of unorthodox moments too. Overall, a little untidy but he did plenty of good.

SUBSTITUTES

Jonny Williams: 7

Sent on to help Town salvage at least a point, the Welshman did exactly that by popping up in injury time to net his first goal.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden: 7

In a similar sense to Williams, Kesler-Hayden made a real impact after coming on and played his part in the late result by bravely heading across goal for Williams to prod home.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson: 6

Mitchell-Lawson was booked after being accused of diving by the referee. That aside, his energy caused a panic in the Rochdale defence and did his best to help Town rescue a point.
