LIDL has revealed the opening date of its second branch in Chippenham.

The Pewsham Way store will launch on Thursday, October 14.

The store will create up to 40 new jobs and features facilities including an instore bakery, a customer toilet with baby changing facilities, electric vehicle charging spaces, and ample parking for cars and bicycles.

As part of the construction for the new store, Lidl has also widened the footway along the frontage of the site and up to the existing pedestrian crossing on Avenue Le Fleche to enhance accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property, Glen Stidever, said: “We'd like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this second new Lidl store to Chippenham.

"It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to even more of the local community."

The new store will be providing surplus produce to several local charities, including HVDV – Helping Victims of Domestic Violence Wiltshire – and Seymour House Care Home, both of whom redistribute surplus and donated food to some of the most vulnerable in the local area.
