FIVE more productions have been announced by the Theatre Royal in Bath as part of its new autumn programme.

They begin with a major new staging of the multi award-winning play Blue/Orange starring Olivier Award-winning Giles Terera (Hamilton) and Michael Balogun (Death Of England, National Theatre).

The production shines a new light upon the incendiary interrogation of power and privilege in modern Britain. The play won the Olivier, Critics’ Circle and Evening Standard awards for Best New Play in 2001.

Produced by Royal & Derngate Northampton, Theatre Royal Bath Productions and Oxford Playhouse, it will open at Bath’s Ustinov Studio appearing from Friday, October 29 to Saturday, November 13 before touring to Oxford and Northampton.

Looking ahead to 2022, the Theatre Royal Bath’s Main House will welcome four more shows including Willy Russell’s much-loved musical Blood Brothers, which is set to appear from March 8-12.

In addition, Michael Morpurgo’s hugely acclaimed World War One drama Private Peaceful visits from April 12-16, and the UK premiere production of Cluedo, a new whodunit based on the classic board game will appear from April 25-30.

Lastly, Tim Firth’s new comedy Sheila’s Island starring Judy Flynn (Dinnerladies, Call The Midwife), Olivier Award-winning Sara Crowe (Private Lives, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Abigail Thaw (Endeavour) will tour to Bath from May 10-14.

Tickets for all productions - which went on sale to members last week – are on sale to the general public from Wednesday, September 22.
