The isolation, exhaustion and frustration of many staff in Salisbury District Hospital at the height of the pandemic have now been transformed into works of art, thanks to a poet.

Martin Figura performed this collection live for the first time at a special ‘Reflections’ evening, held at the new Brown Street venue on Monday (September 13).

The night also featured live jazz from Dan Baker and Paul Young from Stars Appeal Live, as well as original tracks from Bristol musician Pearl Love.

Hosting the evening was compere Scotty D, who led the audience in various karaoke tracks.

Commissioned by Salisbury NHS Trust, the project was made possible by funding from the Hospital League of Friends and The Stars Appeal.

A spokesperson from Salisbury Hospital said: "Without their help, we wouldn't have been able to do this."
