FARMERS are being urged to check their insurance policies after a spate of fires involving combine harvesters, balers and tractors.

The call from Acres Insurance Brokers comes as fire crews were called out to yet another fire involving farm machinery at Bishop Cannings on Friday (September 3).

In the latest incident, two crews from Devizes and Melksham, and a water carrier from Pewsey were mobilised to attend a fire involving a combine harvester in a field off Chandlers Lane.

Crews used two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire which happened at 3.29pm.
