Excitement is building ahead of the Corsham Street Fair, due to take place on Saturday, September 11.

Live music, entertainment, stalls and food and drinks will all be underway between 12 and 4pm.

Having events return to the vibrant town is incredibly important for locals and retailers alike.

One of the Corsham Street Fair's organisers, Rachel Avent, said she was "overjoyed" to bring the Street Fair back to the town.

"The response this year has been incredible," she said.

"The Street Fair is usually held once a year and stall spots fill up quite easily. But this year so many people have got in touch, it's almost been overwhelming how positive the response has been.

"We've extended the event into the Digital Mansion in Corsham, they've very kindly lent us their forecourt and two lawns out the back to make sure we can accommodate everyone.

"There's also some new businesses to Corsham that are really eager to promote themselves, so hopefully this will be a really good opportunity for that."

Covid precautions will be taken during the event to ensure it is safe for locals and visitors alike.

Rachel added: "It means so much to us that we can now hold the event, we only got the go-ahead a month ago.

"People are really excited to get involved and come along. That being said, we are still being very mindful on planning the Street Fair to make sure there's not too much congestion. We are spacing out our stalls more than usual and creating more gaps between the entertainment.

"Since it has been a couple years without the Street Fair now, we're just really excited to get back."

The event will also double as the launch of the Peacock Arts Trail, which allows people to follow a map to explore a multitude of individual open studios as well as enjoy group exhibitions in Corsham, Chippenham and Melksham town centres.
