Chippenham Museum is open until 7pm this Thursday (August 5) with free entry.
People can enjoy exhibition Kilvert’s World and the museum’s permanent galleries telling the story of the town from its prehistoric origins to the current day.
The exhibition features two of the three surviving diaries on loan from The National Library of Wales. Born in Chippenham in 1840, Kilvert became curate for his father in Langley Burrell.
His diaries reflected rural life in the 1870s, and were published more than 50 years after his death.
Visitors can enjoy late openings at the museum once a month, giving opportunity to visit after work or on your way to dinner.
Chippenham Museum has also launched a new series of Creative Workshops for adults, starting with Experimental Embroidery with Bath Textile Artists on Saturday August 14, 2pm – 4pm. Tickets cost £18 and booking is essential.
