A seven-year-old girl has died following a crash in the village of Collingbourne Ducis yesterday (July 13).

Police were called to the A338 Church Street shortly before 6.30pm following the collision, which they say involved a young cyclist and a heavy goods vehicle.

The girl was taken to Salisbury District Hospital but died a short time later.

Her family are being supported by specially-trained officers.

The driver of the HGV remained at the scene and no arrests have been made.

A section of road was closed for around eight-and-a-half hours to allow collision investigation work to take place.

Collingbourne Ducis, around 10 miles south of Marlborough, is a village on the edge of the Salisbury Plain.

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who may have dash cam footage which could assist their enquiries, to call Wiltshire Police’s Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting log 225 of yesterday (July 13).
