A group of friends, known as the 'Veuve Vixens' have raised a staggering £4,658.45 for five charities by walking the 100k Jurassic Coast Challenge.
Leanne Smart from Calne, who works as a senior customer support advisor at the Devizes-based Aster Group, set off on the two-day challenge from Corfe Castle with friends Coleen Simpkins, Caroline Catt, Helen Bliss, Clare Powell - from Calne and Cherhill. The Veuve Vixens walked along the spectacular World Heritage coastline to finish in Bridport, Dorset.
Aster donated £500 to the good cause through its match-funding scheme. The money will be split between Dementia UK, MIND, CoppaFeel, Winstons Wish and the British Heart Foundation.
“So many charities have suffered as very little fundraising has happened due to Covid-19, so we thought this would be a great way to support them," said Leanne. "The challenge was very tough and emotional, but the thought of the money we were raising for our charities kept us going. I would like to thank my colleagues at Aster for their support, it has meant a lot.”
