AN APPEAL has been launched after Wiltshire Council refused planning permission for a house-build in Marston.
Mr Thorburn of Ralcore Limited, 71-75 Shelton Street, London had a bid to build a house on land across from 7 Norney Bridge knocked back by the council.
Planning officers said that the house because of its size against the landscape would have a harmful impact on the local area.
They added that because of the bid’s location in “open countryside” that it would “elongate the built form along Mill Road” which is against the county’s core policy.
They added: "Furthermore, the site is within a location that has limited access to local services and public transport facilities and future occupants would need to travel by car to reach services, facilities and employment opportunities."
Anyone looking to make a comment on the application must contact the planning inspectorate by Wednesday, August 11.
The date of the appeal has yet to be determined by the planning inspector.
