The first homes from a massive development in Chippenham are now for sale.

The Rowden Park development is made up of 1,000 homes and described as a "garden village" with a riverside park.

It is located to the south of Chippenham between Patterdown and the River Avon, with land set aside for a primary school, allotments, a network of country and riverside walks, a country park and provision of a neighbourhood centre including community and leisure facilities.

The first phase of 114 homes by Redcliffe Homes, to be known as Rowden Brook, will provide a range of designs.

Lorraine Kendrick, head of sales and marketing, said: “Rowden Park garden village genuinely offers something not previously seen in this area – a community designed in the style of the Arts and Craft movement, with space, well-being and community as its guiding principles.

“Appealing characteristics include tree-lined streets, attractive landscaping and countryside views - all the hallmarks of a classic garden village – and the neighbourhood features species-rich landscaping and a host of ecological improvements.

“Just a short walk, run or cycle through Riverside Park, takes you into Chippenham town centre, and it’s already clear to see that this development will be very much part of the town, not just a newbuild section tacked on to its periphery, in a setting where lots of footpaths and parkland combine to produce a genuinely green environment.

“Its proximity to the new primary school and village shop, and easy access to the town and public transport links, will give environmentally-conscious residents easily realisable alternatives to using a car.

“In addition, all the homes at Rowden Brook are designed and built with sustainability in mind, featuring energy efficient heating, highly effective insulation - contemporary homes combining innovation and technology with traditional features and finished to the highest standard.

“Of course, it's early days at the garden village, but anyone wanting to see just how great a Redcliffe Homes development looks when it's finished could make the ten-minute drive to see Park Place in Corsham which is now fully occupied and looking lovely."

A selection of three- and four-bedroom homes are currently available, with prices ranging from £329,000 to £422,000. Viewings can be booked by calling the sales office on 01249 470605.
