An author originally from Wiltshire will be holding a book signing, as part of Indie Day in Devizes.

The event, which includes music, craft stalls and more, helps promote local retailers in the town.

First time author Heather Barnett, from Eastcott near Devizes, will be doing an outdoor book signing outside Devizes Books from 11am on Saturday. (June 5)

Acts of Kindness follows Bella Black, who arrives in a sleepy Wiltshire village for an exciting new job that holds a mysterious secret.

A large part of the novel revolves around the secretive OAK Institute, which is inspired by a large stately home on Wiltshire’s border that always caught Ms Barnet’s curious eye.

The story was, in part, inspired when Heather saw her own act of kindess in Paddington Station in London.
