Wiltshire Police has commented on Jonathon Seed’s withdrawal from the Police and Crime Commissioner race.
Following the candidacy withdrawal by Conservative candidate Jonathon Seed yesterday – after historic driving offences came to light – Wiltshire Police says it has received a report and will be assessing how it moves forward.
A spokesman for the force said: “We have been aware by the police area returning officer (PARO) of a candidate’s withdrawal from the local PCC election process.
“In addition to this, we can confirm we’ve received a report relating to this matter and we are currently assessing how we proceed with this.
“We will now be working closely with the PARO to understand the full circumstances surrounding this situation.
“It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
