And there will be guests, including Mickey Gray (ex-Sunderland and England) and Lee Hendrie (ex-Aston Villa).

Melksham Town FC director Darren Perrin said: “It is fantastic and a real coup for the club that these players have agreed to come and play us again, to try and raise some much-needed funds for the club and also to support our two chosen charities.

“To see the likes of Wes Brown, Chris Eagles, Keith Gillespie and the special guests is amazing and we urge all the people in Wiltshire and especially Melksham to get your tickets asap.”

Russell Beardsmore said: “Our former Manchester United players and two guests are looking forward to coming.

“We played on two other occasions and were made very welcome by the club and were amazed by the incredible support that Melksham received.

“We have lost the two other games hence why a younger, fitter squad and we will be definitely looking to put the record straight on August 1.

“We look forward to seeing you all after quite an horrific year for everyone. Stay safe and well.”

The organisers are offering an opportunity for three people to play for Manchester United by calling Darren on 07855 742960 and placing a bid.

Tickets can be purchased on the same number.

There will be an auction after the game of some amazing football shirts where some of the proceeds will be going to the club’s chosen charities, the Teenage Cancer Trust and Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

All children will be admitted free of charge provided they are accompanied by an adult.
