TROWBRIDGE Museum will reopen on Saturday, May 22 following a major £2.5 million redevelopment.

The museum in The Shires shopping centre has been closed since July 2019, to make way for the 'Onwards and Upwards' expansion project.

Curator Clare Lyall said: "We can’t wait to welcome you back and show you the results of our ‘Onwards and Upwards’ redevelopment.

"The museum has doubled in size and features new displays, never-before-seen objects and interactives for all ages.

"Due to ongoing Government guidelines, we will have limited capacity in place where visitors will need to pre-book a timeslot."

She added: "Our staff have had a very busy month in March as we finish the main displays and add the finishing touches to the museum.

"The interpretation boards and signage have now been installed and the cases are coming together ready to welcome you back in just under two months’ time."
