The sound of singing will be heard from St John's Church, in Devizes, at sunset this evening.
Rules on outdoor congregational singing have just been relaxed, and so the church's congregation will be able to sing compline today (March 31) in the churchyard.
It will be the first time the congregation has been able to sing together since last March.
Rev’d Gerry Lynch said he hoped the evening would be "magical" for everyone involved.
Everyone is welcome to join St John's for the service as long as social distancing is observed.
People can gather in the area immediately west of the church building just before 7.30pm on Wednesday, and bring a torch if they wish to follow the order of service.
The service is expected to last no more than 30 minutes.
Members of the choir will sing Compline in the churchyard at 7.30pm on Wednesday. All are welcome to come along and join in with the hymn ‘My song is love unknown’ - the first hymn to be sung by our congregation for over a year! @RSCMCentre @DioSalisbury @theorganmanual https://t.co/Vy4DRy72ON
