Groups of young people were given warnings by local police in Malmesbury this weekend.

Police community support officers (PSCOs) joined Wiltshire Police Response Officers during foot patrols in Malmesbury.

Posting on Facebook, Malmesbury Police wrote: "We spoke to two groups of young people, gave them words of advice and dispersed them.

"One of these groups had been consuming alcohol behind the Ambulance Station and left various alcohol containers which we removed."

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald:

As part of a wider action plan for the town, both Malmesbury Police and the Town Council are working together to explore the idea of more CCTV cameras and security lighting in areas which have been highlighted as hotspots for anti-social behaviour.

They also want to ensure more indoor facilities are available for young people during the winter months.
