AN organic food store is set to open its doors in Marlborough on the site of the old Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop.

Devon farmers Mark and Emily Bury are expanding their food empire in Marlborough and are currently gutting and refurbishing the 4,500sq foot site.
They have taken over the entire building, previously occupied by the Woollen Mill and Monsoon and Accessorise.
“The building is amazing,” said Mark, giving the Gazette & Herald an exclusive sneak peek at the works.

“We have uncovered a wonderful twisting staircase which winds up through the middle, and we have removed various casings to reveal old fireplaces and huge windows which were previously covered up or blocked by the shops that were here.
“We've opened up the building as it was divided up - so we can now see how it was originally built - and it is stunning.”

The Burys hope to replicate the successful organic food approach they have at their store in Totnes, and appeal to Marlborough with produce from their farm in Devon. Son Hamish is set to head the effort.
“We are very interested to get to know organic producers in the area so we can build and develop our offering,” added Mark.
Eversfield Organic Marlborough Farm Shop, Deli and Café will have an ethical butchers counter,  a fresh fishmonger, deli counter and fridges full of cheese and dairy.
It will house a café, wine and cocktail bar serving tapas-style charcuterie from their farm.

The work is due to be completed in April, and the team say they want to open in May.
Renovations took an unexpected turn last week, when thieves broke in to the back of the store, and drilled through to WHSmith next door.
Police are still investigating the raid, in which thousands of pounds of cigarettes were stolen.
