THE Wharf Theatre has announced that it has eight shows in pre-production to go live when the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown comes to an end.

They are the Collected Grimm Tales in July; Jesus Chris Superstar in September; The Navy Lark, The Tommy Cooper Story and Glorious (subject to rights) in October; The Paul Simon Story in November; Dick Whittington in December, and My Mother Said I Never Should in January 2022.

The Wharf's spokeswoman Karen Ellis said: "Subject to government guidelines, the Wharf Theatre has eight shows in pre-production.

"We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we are ready to put on a show for you all, just as soon as we are allowed."

Last week, The Wharf joined forces with other venues to light the theatre in red as part of the national #Light It in Red campaign.

Ms Ellis said: "The message this year is one of hope and support and The Wharf Theatre is using the universal symbol of the heart with the message ‘We’re still beating’.

"Anyone passing The Wharf last week would have seen a series of posters created to celebrate the #Light It in Red campaign.

"We also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their amazing support over the last year."

Tickets for the eight shows can be purchased by calling 03336 663 366; from the website www.wharftheatre.co.uk or, when open, at the Devizes Community Hub and Library on Sheep Street, from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

Whilst the Covid restrictions remain in place please continue to refer to The Wharf's website for the latest details.
